"Take it easy" app

This app is designed and customized to track life style for people who experience severe anxiety that would notify them when they are starting to have an anxiety attack by monitoring their heart/Stress rate with any smartwatch.

Duration: 2 months

Section 1 - Project overview

1

Problem

During an anxiety attack it becomes difficult to think rational, relax, and remember things you can do to break out of it.

2

Goal

I think if someone can break out of the mindset of what is making them hysterical, it would be easier to control your anxiety attacks. For that reason, the goal was to have the app notify you when your attack first starts to help control it. ans also to monitor user's life style and gives advice once require.

Section 3: Starting The Design

3.1 Digital wireframes

My goals for the design of the app was to make it as simple as possible impairments users may be feeling due to anxiety. I tried to work out ideas to keep the app mostly within a single page/screen and bring in info with overlays.

3.2 Low-fidelity prototype

Using the completed set of digital wireframes, I created a low-fidelity prototype. The primary user flow I connected was building and ordering a Spanish Food, so the prototype could be used in a usability study.

3.3 Usability study

1

Study Type

Moderated usability study

3

Participants

10 participants

2

Location

Dubai, Remote

4

Length

30 - 60 minutes

Findings (Round 1, Round 2)

  1. The animations were way too fast and needed adjustments

  2. A chance to confirm the heart rate result if needed

  3. Editing the activity type was difficult

  4. Consider assistive technology

  5. The app was simple to use and easy to navigate.

  6. The date selector was still not easy to use or understand

Section 4: Refining The Design

4.1 Hi-Fidelity prototype

Early designs allowed for some customization, but after the usability studies, I put the subscription plan as first option to attack users After the usability studies, I added new feature for assistive technology (Accessibility)

4.2 Responsive Design

One of the goals of the project was to create a complimentary responsive website. Because the app was intended to be simple, I kept the site designs simple as well

Section 5: Going forward

5.1 Takeaways

1

Impact

The app makes users subscribe with their preferred plan to avoid wasting their time.

2

What I have learned

While designing this App, I learned that the first ideas for the app are only the beginning of the process. Usability studies and peer feedback influenced each iteration of the app’s designs.

5.2 Next Steps

1

Step 1

Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.

2

Step 2

Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.

3

Step 3

Keeps an eye on our competitor
